SAVE OUR SERVICES IN SURREY - ELECTIONS CHARTER
A 10-point Charter was adopted by Save Our Services in Surrey in 2010, agreed again in 2015, was reaffirmed at our January 2017 Steering Committee meeting and updated in September 2019.
UPDATE: Our previous Charter has been overtaken by our comprehensive 'People's Budget (Manifesto)' below, agreed at our conference in September 2022.
We call upon all progressive candidates to consider whether they support the Manifesto. We will list here all those candidates who agree and say so on their election material. To adopt the manifesto, candidates must email [email protected] stating they agree with the manifesto and giving their name, political party and electoral ward. They should also include a copy of their election flier.
Adoption of the Manifesto does not imply that SOSiS supports any individual candidate or political party. Rather, it allows anti-austerity activists and trade unionists to see which candidates support SOSiS' aims and objectives - FOR A NEEDS-LED PEOPLE'S BUDGET FOR SURREY.
Candidates who have adopted the SOSiS manifesto (as of 17 April 2023)
Trade Union and Socialist Coalition (TUSC)
Paul Couchman, Spelthorne, Laleham and Shepperton Green
Helen Couchman, Spelthorne, Laleham and Shepperton Green
Andrew Pattinson, Spelthorne, Laleham and Shepperton Green
Sam Church, Guildford, Onslow Ward
James Lewis, Guildford, Onslow Ward
Ellie Waple, Waverley, Cranleigh West
Laurence Dunn, Waverley, Cranleigh West
