PCS have been seeking meaningful negotiations with leading Civil Servant Bob Kerslake since December 2012 with no success.
The action has come about because of the refusal to negotiate on issues such as Pay. After a two year pay freeze followed by two years 1% pay cap, wages have been slashed and Civil Servants are suffering as a result.
Pensions- The hike in pension contributions means Civil Servants are now paying more and working longer for less money.
Terms and Conditions- Civil Servants are facing an ongoing review of their contractual rights at work. Potentially this means working longer hours, fewer holidays and family friendly policies, less sick pay and reductions in flexi time.
To coincide with the one day strike - PCS are planning a Budget Day Rally in London at Old Palace Yard from 12 noon to 2PM.
PCS members will be leaving for London by Train at approx 11:00 after a picket line at Dukes Court Duke Street Woking.
If anyone wants to join us you will all be very welcome.
