Our next meeting is on 3rd September at 7pm at the Maybury Centre in Woking. We hope to have updates from the Fire Brigades Union, from the Care Homes Campaign and from the campaign to save Childrens Centres. We may also have some idea by then what is going to happen in the Labour Party, with the leadership election... exciting times.
If you are a relative or resident of a Surrey care home threatened with closure, or a parent with children or working at a Sure Start Centre facing the axe or if you just want to help fight austerity and stop the cuts, please come along.
On Sunday 13 September the National Shop Stewards Network will be lobbying the TUC Congress in Brighton over the anti-trade union bill.. See flyer attached.
On 4th October the TUC have organised a march in Manchester to protest at the Tory Party conference. We will have updates on transport options etc.
On 17th October Surrey County UNISON, along with Youth Fight For Jobs, are holding a day of action in Woking Town Centre from 12pm till 2pm at the old bandstand opposite Toys R Us. This will be petitioning and campaigning on the need for a £10ph minimum wage.
